C A N C E L L E D

It is with much disappointment that we are announcing the cancelling of New Jersey’s 2020 Recovery Walk*Rally which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 19th (National Recovery Day) at Liberty State Park. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic, the current Governor’s Order and all the related uncertainty has made this year’s event, which was to be our 7th annual, an impossibility.

Ironically, the reasons the Walk*Rally is cancelled, are the reasons which made/makes it much NEEDED: addiction is running rampant in our communities, substance misuse is unfettered and taking prisoners in many homes, overdoses, suicide and mental health decomposition are all at unprecedented levels. Our communities need to return to health. How are we to do that in these extraordinary times? First and foremost, we can take care of our own bio-psycho-social wellbeing: not easy an easy challenging these days. We can use our tools, principles and faith as well as seek the compassion, wisdom and experience of others. We need each other now more than ever. Every action matters. Our well-chosen words pale in comparison to the power of our example.

And, we hope that you join us. Share with us what you can of your thoughts, time and ideas on how to shine the beacon of recovery; driving out the darkness of addiction. We look forward to hearing from you.

Until we meet again, thank you and be well.

                                  Most gratefully,
